Window coverings can be expensive, but they don’t have to be! There are so many products on the market now, from very affordable roller or banded shades, to elaborate custom drapery. We always suggest spending the bulk of your budget on the rooms that are used most. That’s usually your living or family room, dining room and kitchen. The master often comes next, followed by the kid’s rooms and office. Leave the utility areas, basement and other secondary rooms until the end. Many clients will purchase in two stages, rather than settling for something they don’t love for their main areas just to meet their budget. For us to sell you a product, it has undergone extensive research and scrutiny. We support and take pride in the brands we carry. If you choose to have your installation done by Dodds Interiors, we offer a one-year installation warranty. Manufacturer warranties vary from supplier to supplier, so you will need to inquire. Product warranties never cover installation, removal or shipping costs.

When comparing products, you have to compare apples to apples. Just because a product looks similar, does not mean it is. There are so many aspects that are not visible that determine quality. Fabrics that look similar may not perform in the same way. Have they been tested for discoloration from UV light? How do they perform in cold climates, or on a humid July afternoon in southern Ontario? Do the mechanisms last pull after pull, or do they break after a few months of use and inconveniently need to be removed and sent back to the manufacturer...if they are still in business.
